The Learner-Centered Ecosystem Lab is entering its next phase! What began as a bold vision has evolved into a growing movement. Across the country, twenty-two communities are advancing learner-centered ecosystems that are transforming what learning looks like and where it happens.
Together, these communities are designing learning around the unique strengths, cultures, and aspirations of young people. They are bringing learning to life everywhere across their localities: workplaces, cultural spaces, libraries, parks, schools, colleges, and neighborhoods. And they are building the infrastructure and conditions that make learning beyond school walls count toward each learner’s future. This collective learning journey is expanding in two powerful ways:
A new cohort is joining the Learner-Centered Ecosystem Lab.
Colorado Springs School of Technology,(CO); Eden Prairie Schools (MN); Ellemercito & California Microschools Collective (CA); Embarc Chicago (IL); The Forest School and Center for Self-Directed Learning (GA); La Luz & CultivatED Colorado (CO); LaFayette Big Picture School (NY); Palmetto Pathways (SC); IDEA (Industrial Design Engineering and Art) of Tacoma Public Schools (WA); and WPS Institute (MA)
Our Legacy Lab communities continue to deepen and expand their impact.
Big Picture South Valley (CA); Big Thought (TX); FabNewport (RI); The Lab School of Memphis (TN); Liberty Public Schools (MO); NACA Inspired Schools Network (NM); Norris School District (WI); PAST Foundation (OH); Purdue Polytechnic High School (IN); Rock Tree Sky (CA); Runway Green (NY); SparkNC (NC)
Momentum is building. Possibility is spreading.
This next chapter is about realizing what communities know is possible for young people and uncovering and codifying all that is possible for public education nationwide. In the weeks ahead, we’ll share new insights from the Lab, research on the evolving role of educators in ecosystems, and opportunities to engage with this growing movement.
