We’re excited to share Known, Supported, Connected—a new paper by Bobbi Macdonald, our Senior Partner for Ecosystem Advancement and Growth and the Education Reimagined team, supported by a Moonshot Grant from Remake Learning.
This report explores a powerful question: What does it mean to be an educator in a learner-centered ecosystem?
Drawing on insights from educators and caring adults in Brooklyn’s Runway Green, Columbus’s PAST Foundation, and Ojai’s Rock Tree Sky, the paper offers a new way to think about the competencies and roles that enable ecosystems to grow and thrive.
Rather than defining a new kind of educator, these insights expand our understanding of who serves as one—and what it takes to help every young person be known, supported, and connected to meaningful learning opportunities.
The findings illuminate the capacities that matter most—from building lasting relationships and navigating across contexts, to guiding learning with empathy and adaptability.
