Blueprints (for Assessment)

30 November 2017

Developing an assessment framework that contains enough structure to clearly communicate the growth of an individual learner while still retaining the learner's unique qualities is headache-inducing.

HundrED, an international organization scanning the globe for innovative practices in education, has put the spotlight on this challenge and brought forward the learner-centered work of California-based MUSE School. In particular, they’ve highlighted MUSE’s work in Blueprintsa framing for “an holistic assessment method that addresses every aspect of a student’s learning experience, including their abilities to live and contribute to a sustainable lifestyle.” HundrED partnered with MUSE to provide educators a step-by-step look at what’s needed to implement this assessment strategy. Consider the possibility a learner Blueprint might create in your community, and let us know how you would adapt it for your learners.
