Stories of Culturally Responsive Education

Diminishing the painful and diverse lived-experiences of marginalized communities has been consistent throughout American history. Now, there’s a growing movement to use education spaces to illuminate these narratives.

Award-winning filmmaker, Manauvaskar Kublall, introduces us to real-life examples of the racism and bias young people, educators, and leaders of color have experienced in public education systems through his Culturally Responsive Education Documentary Series. Over the course of 9 episodes, Kublall reveals the need to champion more positive and culturally responsive learning environments where all young people see their identities, experiences, and challenges reflected and honored. Viewed through a learner-centered perspective, it challenges us to connect young people to their unique truth and legacy.
